The Skipton Gardening Competition is an annual event, organised by Skipton in Bloom, and an important part of the town’s entry into the Yorkshire in Bloom Competition. 

Local residents, businesses and allotment holders are all invited to participate in the competition – aimed at helping make Skipton a more colourful and attractive place to visit during the summer months.

Judging is carried out in late July and prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each category.  An autumn awards ceremony is held in Craven Court to present the prizes. Categories for the 2010 Skipton Gardening Competition are:

  • CATEGORY 1 - BEST FRONT GARDEN
  • CATEGORY 2 - BEST BACK GARDEN
  • CATEGORY 3 - BEST DISPLAY OF CONTAINERS/TUBS/BASKETS
  • CATEGORY 4 - BEST BUSINESS OR STATUTORY BODY DISPLAY
  • CATEGORY 5A - BEST ALLOTMENT (MIDDLETOWN)
  • CATEGORY 5B - BEST ALLOTMENT (BROUGHTON ROAD)
